Brazilian Percussion Workshop
For groups of 6 to 10 participants – suitable for all ages
Discover the power of rhythm, teamwork, and playful creativity in this Brazilian percussion workshop. Whether young or adult, with or without musical experience – everyone takes part, and everyone counts.
What’s the workshop about?
In an energetic yet relaxed setting, participants are introduced to authentic Brazilian percussion instruments and rhythms. Through word games, rhymes, and musical play, we build rhythmic patterns – also known as cadence – which naturally grow into lively, swinging, and surprisingly melodic grooves.
The aim is not to form a traditional samba band, as that style is too specialized for this format. Instead, the workshop offers an accessible introduction to the variety, sound, and role of the instruments. Participants rotate instruments, discover what suits them best, and find a role where they feel at ease.
Why choose this workshop?
With over 25 years of experience teaching music – from primary schools to projects at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam – I know how to achieve meaningful results in a fun and approachable way. The workshop emphasizes:
- Teamwork and enjoyment
- Creative expression and rhythm awareness
- An accessible introduction to Brazilian music and culture
- Space for every participant’s pace and talent
Whether for a primary or secondary school group, a team-building event, or a family day, the workshop is easily tailored to the age group and setting.
